Paul Fox

Managing Director

Paul is the founder and managing director of Fox Strategic and is a specialist in strategic planning, program development and stakeholder engagement. He is the Deputy Chairman and was a founding member of the board of Aviation Aerospace Australia – the national association of the aviation and aerospace industries.

Prior to establishing Fox Strategic, Paul was Regional Director (Asia Pacific) of the US-based Flight Safety Foundation. He was responsible for establishing the Foundation’s Asia Pacific Regional Office (based in Melbourne), the Foundation’s first office outside of the United States. In this role he was responsible for the conception and development of the Basic Aviation Risk Standard (BARS) Program – a ground breaking global safety program for aviation operations in the resources and allied sectors. Under Paul’s leadership, the program was adopted by the world’s major resources companies. The program provides a single global aviation standard for the sector and a central, quality controlled audit system for aircraft operators contracted by the participating mining companies.

Before this he was General Manager of the Australian Davos Connection, Australia’s pre-eminent leadership think-tank and an affiliate of the World Economic Forum. In this role Paul was responsible for overseeing some of Australia’s most important gatherings of senior corporate, political, government, and community leaders, including the Future Summit and the high-profile Australian Leadership Retreat held annually on Hayman Island.

During this time he was also responsible for the delivery of the Energy and Minerals Business Council meeting on behalf of the Australian Treasury, a significant component of the 2006 G20 Meeting of Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors held in Melbourne. Co-chaired by the Chief Executives of BHP Billiton and Rio Tinto, the meeting involved the CEOs and Chairmen of some of the world’s largest energy and mining companies from the G20 countries.

In addition Paul has run a CEO leadership forum, has represented a multi-national aviation and counter-terrorism technology company in Australia, established and run a CEO leadership forum, and hosted a large number of high profile corporate events, including overseeing the launch activities of Virgin Blue Airlines.

In 2010 Paul was chairman of a community initiative celebrating the 100 year anniversary of the first powered flight by an Australian designed, built and flown aircraft.
