Gus Wrethman

Aviation Practice Leader

Gus has nearly 30 years experience in management positions in the Australian airline industry and specialises in business case development, strategic and tactical planning, aviation safety, and airline operations. He has broad experience in all sectors of the airline industry covering regional, major and low-cost airline operations having worked with Jetstar Airways, Ansett Australia and Kendell Airlines.

During his time with Jetstar Airways Gus held project and business management roles at both Head Office and Airport locations. In these roles Gus was involved in a range of projects, including: the start-up of airport operations for their domestic and international services; the feasibility and procurement of customer relationship management software; assisting in the development and implementation of a baggage tracking system; management of reporting systems and consultation services related to airport based staff training packages; and various business analysis projects.

Prior to this he held a range of roles with Ansett Australia including: revenue management, managing airport operations and corporate facilities including the airline’s corporate lounges – Golden Wing Lounge (business level) and the Ansett Pass Lounge (VIP & chairman level).

He has also been involved in conducting high-level airline business analysis and modelling, strategic planning and airport planning for start-up airline operations and has been the key designer of a suite of airline related reservations and DCS software tools (Soltec Airline Business System – SABS).

Gus holds a Master’s Degree in Aviation Management from Swinburne University in Melbourne.
